Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Have a Car Park?

Yes, we have ample parking round the back of the pub and disabled parking on the side of the building.

Please note we have an electric barrier, and a token will need to be collected from the bar before you leave the pub.

Do You Take Deposits?

We require a £5 per person deposit for Private Hire bookings. This can be redeemed from your bill on the day; and redundable up to 48 hours before your booking.

Do You Require Pre-Orders?

Yes, we require pre-orders 10 days before your booking.

Can We Pre-Order Drinks?

Absolutely. You can pre-order drinks from our wine list, or from the bar for your arrival.

How Do We Book The Lodges?

You can absolutely book the lodges via the website. Our lodges require a £250 minimum spend (per lodge you book). This includes any food or drinks.

Thank you so much to all of the staff at the Chequers, Jo and Lilli in particular, for ensuring that my father’s wake went smoothly and seamlessly. From the moment we walked into the Chequers, the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The location is fantastic, with lots of parking on site, beautiful rooms and open fires inside and wonderful outdoor space too. The food was all homemade and delicious and the Chequers team was very accommodating with all of our advance requests for food, responding promptly to any messages, and being helpful with suggestions as to the amount of food to order. They also showed a photo slideshow on their TV for us. It was helpful that so many of the arrangements could be done via email. Can’t thank you all enough for taking care of everything which really helped to ease the pressure on such a difficult day for our family.

We visited The Chequers for an early Mothers Day celebration and they obligingly allowed us to book one of their outside, enclosed dining areas when we explained we were bringing our rescue dog too who is still learning to socialise. The huts are cosy with fairy lights, TV and heating with lap blankets also for those who are extra chilly. Food superb and they even cooked two sausages for our dog and brought them out chopped up in a little bowl! Thank you The Chequers and all your fabulous staff – we had a wonderful time.
